Realising a dream
Yusra Mardini has an incredible story. At 17, she fled civil war in Syria and left her home behind. Through courage and determination, she realised her dream of going to the Olympics, competing in the butterfly at the Rio 2016 and Tokyo 2020 Games.
Changing the world together
Yusra became an Oris Ambassador last year, and it’s our great joy to back her foundation. This year, she’s been working with Welcome 66 in the south of France. It teaches refugees who’ve arrived in France how to swim.
Meet Welcome 66
Why? Like Yusra, many of them fled their home countries by boat, making a terrifying journey across water to reach safety. By teaching them to swim, Welcome 66 helps them overcome their fears, build confidence and begin new lives.
It’s a wonderful project and it’s a delight to support it through the Yusra Mardini Foundation. Together we can bring Change for the Better.
