A new world
In the 1960s, the world enjoyed a magical season of design and artistic creativity. A new era of international travel and exploration was taking hold, too. Recreational diving was just one expression of this spirit – Scuba diving, as it became known.
Time for adventure
Divers needed reliable, legible watches for their underwater adventures and so Oris created its first dive watch. It had a quirky dial design with large, luminescent numerals and promised high levels of performance. The year was 1965.
Six decades in the making
Today, we celebrate six decades of Oris dive watches with the 60th Anniversary Edition. The new watch revives the look of that 1965 original, complete with the same dial design and detailing, including the retro Oris logo. An icon reborn.
