Heart and soul

Calibre 115, the skeletonised movement that powers the Oris Big Crown ProPilot X Calibre 115, was designed and developed in-house and is a pure expression of the company’s watchmaking philosophy. The concept for the watch began with the movement.

Oris Calibre 115

A modern marvel

Oris has recently developed calibres with a unique base architecture. Each is hand-wound, has a 10-day power reserve, and an Oris-patented non-linear indicator showing winding time with increasing accuracy. These calibres symbolize Oris as a movement creator.

For Calibre 115, Oris’s watchmakers took the spirit and functionality of these calibres and imagined a fully skeletonised Oris movement, hollowing out the movement’s components to create the architectural form that defines it. Even the extended mainspring in the barrel at 12 o’clock is visible. The result is a work of contemporary modernism. It is beautiful and mysterious, and yet it has no secrets – it reveals its inner workings and invites us to understand it.
